Methodology

The calculator simulates monthly investments on the first trading day of each month, splitting each contribution across your chosen assets by weight. Returns are computed from Net Total Return indices denominated in EUR, which reflect actual market performance including reinvested dividends.

Rebalancing is off by default. When enabled, the portfolio is redistributed to target weights once per year in January, after at least 12 months of investing.

Inflation adjustment uses Eurozone HICP annual rates. Each monthly contribution is individually adjusted to end-of-period purchasing power, so earlier euros bear more inflation than later ones. The "real return" figure reflects what your money is actually worth after inflation.
